A Message from President Dr. Winston O. Soboyejo

It is with great pride and heartfelt gratitude that I share the SUNY Polytechnic Institute Annual Report for 2024–2025. At SUNY Poly, our students are our North Star—their success and career readiness unite us around a common vision that guides every decision, partnership, and innovation we pursue. This past year was one of progress and purpose, as we strengthened academic programs, expanded research, and advanced our mission through collaboration and innovation.

We’ve made significant strides across our Colleges of Arts & Sciences, Business, Engineering, and Health Sciences, while expanding partnerships that connect education, research, and workforce development, creating impact both locally and globally, including across Africa. Historic state investments fueled growth in key areas, supporting the launch of 14 new research centers, enhancing infrastructure, and reinforcing SUNY Poly’s role as New York’s premier public polytechnic.

We also welcomed new leadership across academic and administrative areas, bringing fresh expertise to advance our strategic priorities. Our faculty continued to earn distinction through research, scholarship, and mentorship, while ribbon cuttings and facility upgrades modernized our campus and created new opportunities for collaboration and learning.

Our momentum continued into Fall 2025, when SUNY Poly welcomed the largest incoming undergraduate class in its history, with nearly 800 new students joining our community. That same season, we celebrated the 50-year reunion of our first graduating class, honoring five decades of excellence, innovation, and impact.

In the pages that follow, you’ll discover highlights from an inspiring year—stories of academic achievement, community partnerships, faculty and student success, athletic accomplishments, and continued progress in advancing SUNY Poly’s strategic plan. Together, these moments reflect a university that is dynamic, student-centered, and boldly shaping a future defined by opportunity, discovery, and impact.

Sincerely,

Dr. Winston Oluwole Soboyejo
President, SUNY Polytechnic Institute
