  • 22 student-athletes were inducted in Chi Alpha Sigma, the National Student-Athlete Honor Society at the Spring 2023 Athletics Awards Celebration.
  • Molly Burdick (WVB, WBB, WLAX) and Wakeley Banker (MSOC) were named the Wildcat Female and Male Athletes of the Year.
  • Molly Burdick and Wakeley Banker were SUNY Poly’s representatives for the Utica Kiwanis Club Athletes of the Year.
  • Men’s Basketball won the inaugural Wildcat Cup competition. The competition recognizes the SUNY Poly Athletics team that has earned the most points in academic, athletic, community service, and spirit categories.
  • Joe Killian (MXC) and Trinity Critelli (SOFT) earned the highest GPA awards at the Spring 2023 Athletics Awards Celebration.
  • Wakeley Banker (MSOC) won a SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence in the Spring 2023 semester.
  • Garrett Hassard and Max Szuba, Assistant Coaches with our Men’s Volleyball program, were named the Wildcat Athletics Service Award recipients at the Spring 2023 Athletics Awards Celebration for serving in interim head coaching capacities for the program in the winter/spring 2022-2023 season.
  • Men’s Soccer hosted an ID clinic that welcomed 25 prospects to campus in June 2023.
  • The Athletics Hall of Fame Ceremony made its return this September as a part of Alumni/ae Weekend. The last induction took place in 2015.
  • Trinity Critelli (SOFT) and Wakeley Banker (MSOC) were SUNY Poly’s nominations for NAC Woman and Man of the Year.
  • Softball earned the right to host the NAC Softball Championship Tournament this past spring when Husson University defeated Cazenovia College to secure the NAC Championship.
  • SUNY Poly athletes were highlighted by the National Association of Division III Athletics Administrators (NADIIIAA) for Sleep in Heavenly Peace volunteer work: Last year, SUNY Poly student-athletes began working with a local charity organization called Sleep in Heavenly Peace. The slogan for this group is “No Kid Sleeps on the Floor in this Town,” and their mission is to build and provide beds to the local youth. This year, SUNY Poly has continued its partnership with SHP, and their student-athletes have volunteered their time to help build beds. This volunteering includes cutting, sanding, and staining wood, drilling holes and branding the headboards of beds with the school logo, and collecting bedding.
