Laursen"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I am pleased to present SUNY Polytechnic Institute\u2019s 2021-2022 Academic Year Annual Report, in which we showcase select educational, research, and economic engagement efforts that continue to foster this institution\u2019s reputation as a leading catalyst for immersive learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As SUNY Poly adapts to the impacts of the pandemic, we have met or exceeded all state guidelines. But even with such challenges, we boast a robust academic and research ecosystem that remains vibrant:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>SUNY Poly sustains its high rankings.<\/strong> <em>U.S. News &amp; World Report<\/em> ranked SUNY Poly #2 for \u201cTop Public Schools,\u201d in the Top 20 for \u201cSocial Mobility,\u201d among the Top 50 for \u201cBest Value Colleges,\u201d and #4 for \u201cBest Colleges for Veterans,\u201d all in the 2022 \u201cRegional Universities North\u201d category.<\/li><li><strong>SUNY Poly maintains its strong enrollment. <\/strong>In the 2021-2022 academic year, we were proud to welcome more than 2,850 students\u2014continuing strong sustained enrollment year-over-year, even at a time when many institutions still face headwinds as a result of the pandemic\u2019s impact and a slowing economy. Our targeted educational approach provides access to academic-to-career pipelines in high-demand areas, and our partners range from nearby community colleges to industry collaborators, inspiring students at all levels via exciting career paths, whether they study liberal arts, nanotechnology, nursing, or interactive media and game design.<\/li><li><strong>SUNY Poly continues to be a hub for enabling game-changing research and innovation.<\/strong> Our faculty researchers have secured millions in external funding to advance fundamental knowledge in areas such as nanobioscience, semiconductors, engineering, and community health. We are also excited about our partnerships, such as with Wolfspeed, supporting a STEM scholarship program and two endowed faculty chair positions, in addition to hands-on research opportunities at TEL Technology Center, America, LLC, among others.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While the headlines have been filled with news about COVID-19 and other challenges, SUNY Poly continues to advance (and a number of headlines have noted this, too). With a foundation of health and safety protocols, we strive to act meaningfully to support our critical diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. We focus on innovative experiential and online learning opportunities, in addition to extra-curricular activities that make for an exciting, well rounded student experience.
